Talks Break off Between PSAC, CBSA and Treasury Board

Earlier this week, negotiations ceased between the Public Service Alliance of Canada (PSAC), the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) and the Treasury Board. PSAC represents more than 8,000 CBSA employees who have been without a contract since June 2014.

PSAC is striving to have compensations aligned with other law enforcement agencies, early retirement and amendments to disciplinary procedures. A strike vote could take place if the next round of mediation and recommendations to the Public Interest Commission fails.

Buckland will be closely monitoring this situation and provide updates as new information is received. Presently, there is no impact on cross-border trade. For more information, please consult this news release from PSAC.
