Canadian Export Reporting System (CERS)

July 22, 2020 – The Canadian Automated Export Declaration (CAED) system will be retired on September 30, 2020, and replaced with the Canadian Export Reporting System (CERS).

CERS is a free, web-based, self-service portal that has been created to submit electronic declarations and Summary Reporting Program monthly reports. This will mean that there is no longer a need to download and maintain software as was necessary with CAED, and the program can be accessed from any computer with an internet connection. CERS will also make for easier maintenance and is simple to navigate.

Canadians who export to Mexico and overseas should have received a letter from the CBSA with instructions for setting up the CERS Business Account. Please note that this is not required for exports to the US. If a company has not filed in the last year, they will need to register for this program.
