The Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) is currently experiencing delays in processing Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) and eManifest portal messages. Please review the details below regarding this ongoing issue.
Update on System Delays
- Start Time: March 13, 2025, 07:32 (ET)
- End Time: Investigation still underway – no estimated time of resolution
- Clients Affected: All clients and service providers who transmit trade data using EDI and the eManifest portal.
The CBSA is currently receiving and processing inbound trade data through EDI and the eManifest portal. However, there are delays in sending outbound messages, including acknowledgments, reject messages, and notices (e.g., RNS, completeness notices). Additionally, eManifest portal users may experience difficulties with trade data remaining in an “Updating” status.
The CBSA is actively working to resolve this issue and will provide updates as soon as more information is available. We regret any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your patience.
Action Required
- Please follow the contingency procedures outlined by the CBSA during system outages. These procedures can be accessed here: CBSA Contingency Procedures.
- Highway carriers proceeding to the border during this outage should ensure that all drivers carry two copies of the correct paperwork to present upon arrival.
- The CBSA will accept paper documentation during this outage, and no monetary penalties will be issued for failure to transmit required data during the outage and for two hours following system resumption.
We will continue to monitor the situation and provide updates as they become available. If you need further assistance, do not hesitate to contact your Buckland representative. Thank you for your patience and cooperation.
