USITC Finds No Injury to U.S. Industry from Aluminum Extrusions Imports

October 30, 2024. The U.S. International Trade Commission (USITC) has announced a final determination that imports of aluminum extrusions from China, Colombia, Ecuador, India, Indonesia, Italy, Malaysia, Mexico, South Korea, Taiwan, Thailand, Turkey, United Arab Emirates, and Vietnam do not materially injure or pose a threat to U.S. industry. This decision follows the U.S. Department of Commerce’s findings that these imports were sold in the U.S. market at less than fair value and subsidized by the governments of China, Indonesia, Mexico, and Turkey.

The decision by USITC Commissioners David S. Johanson and Jason E. Kearns in the negative, with Chair Amy A. Karpel voting in the affirmative and Commissioner Rhonda K. Schmidtlein not participating, results in no issuance of antidumping or countervailing duty orders on these products from the mentioned countries.

The full report, Aluminum Extrusions from China, Colombia, Ecuador, India, Indonesia, Italy, Malaysia, Mexico, South Korea, Taiwan, Thailand, Turkey, United Arab Emirates, and Vietnam, will be published under USITC Publication 5560 by December 10, 2024. This report will detail the Commission’s views and the information gathered during the investigation and can be accessed on the USITC website at USITC Publication Log.
