Important Update on New Canadian Tariffs and Customs Regulations

March 12, 2025. We would like to inform you of significant updates regarding new tariffs imposed by the Government of Canada on certain products imported from the United States. These measures are effective as of March 13, 2025, in response to recent U.S. tariffs on Canadian goods. Additionally, the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) has issued Customs Notice 25-11, outlining important regulatory changes that may impact your import and export activities.

Key Updates

New Tariffs on U.S. Goods

These tariffs apply to goods that are eligible to be marked as U.S. goods under the Determination of Country of Origin for the Purposes of Marking Goods (CUSMA Countries) Regulations. The tariffs will remain in effect until the United States removes its tariffs on Canadian steel and aluminum products.
