CN Rail Workers on Strike in Canada

A strike of Canadian National (CN) Rail employees represented by the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) began at 11:00 am on Saturday, June 18, 2022 across Canada.

The IBEW represents approximately 750 signal and communication employees and issued a 72-hour strike notice last Wednesday morning.

CN has confirmed that “normal rail operations continue safely as it has implemented its operational contingency plan. The plan allows the Company to maintain a normal level of safe rail operations across Canada and serve its customers for as long as required.” (Full statement linked below)

Buckland will continue to monitor this situation and provide updates on matters that could impact the status of shipments.
