A strike of CN employees could begin this Saturday, June 18, 2022 at 11:00am eastern time if a settlement is not reached between Canadian National (CN) Rail and the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW).
CN has received a 72-hour notice of intention to strike from the IBEW, which represents approximately 750 employees in Canada. In a statement, CN has confirmed that they will continue to work with the union in the coming days with the goal of averting this strike action.
CN has confirmed that it is prepared and ready to implement an operational contingency plan to ensure continued safe and uninterrupted service for our customers as long as required.
Buckland will continue to monitor this situation and provide updates on matters that could impact the status of shipments.
