The United States and the United Kingdom have reached an agreement to lift tariffs on steel and aluminum from the UK, as well as distilled spirits, agriculture products and consumer goods from the US.
This agreement will come into effect on June 1, 2022 and will allow for 500,000 metric tonnes of British steel to be imported into the US duty free annually. In 2018, a 25% tariff on steel and a 10% tariff on aluminum were imposed on several countries by the Trump administration under Section 232.
