US and MX Authorities have responded to the possible strike from the Driver’s Association with the following statements:
US CBP:
“If truck traffic is affected, be ready to divert your truck traffic to the Colombia Solidarity Bridge. We will have proper staff there to process incoming shipments and Colombia is well equipped to handle the truck volume”
MX SAT:
- SAT will set up a “modulo” at Colombia Bridge
- Municipio de Tamaulipas will be prepared with wrecks to removed any vehicle that try to block the bridge
- SAT already requested Federal Authorities to prevent blockage
Driver’s Association:
“We will continue with the protest in order to achieve better crossing times”
Please note that the drivers association could also decide to block Colombia, please note that at Colombia you need a different Patente in the Mexican side for Customs processing.
All of this is for informational purposes so that you can plan accordingly and an agreement could be reached at any point allowing the trailers to cross regularly.
