June 4, 2018 – Additional tariffs on US origin goods that have been proposed by Canada as a countermeasure to the recently imposed duties on Canadian steel and aluminum imported into the United States. The list of goods proposed for additional tariffs was released by the Department of Finance Canada on May 31, 2018, and can be viewed online here.
It is important to note that this will be considered additional countervailing/SIMA duty that will not be subject to relief under tariff codes (for example 9958 and 9959).
In order to ensure that we are keeping our customers informed and compliant, Buckland is available to conduct a review of products that fall under these new proposed tariffs to determine if your company will be impacted by these changes.
